A century old carriage house in Wellington, Ontario, empty and unused, was transformed by our team into a two car garage with a short term accommodation on the second floor, complete with a private patio space.
This retrofit in Wellington, Ontario, saw us salvaging what original board we could as we stripped the carriage house right back to it's original structure.
High performance air sealing is an important part of any retrofit, preventing unwanted air leaks and improving comfort.

Fieldbird Cider was set up to operate as a biodymamic holistic farm, and part of that plan included the large undertaking of establishing a former storage building into a shop front and its exterior into a gorgeous landscape filled with bountiful garden boxes supporting this dream.
Reclaimed wood from the farm itself was used where possible, including the entryway to the bottle shop.
Multiple garden boxes and an accessible walkway were added to let guests wander through the property while enjoying cider.
Salem Road: This uninsulated, roughly built, lean to addition on a gorgeous stone century home was transformed by our team into a functional living space for work and play.
We preserved a few pieces of the post and beam as an aesthetic nod to this space’s past. Added a huge amount of natural light with triple pane windows, a significant of R value with dense pack cellulose.
